Further Information: An e-Learning strategy has been approved at board level.
Any new change initiative must have backing at the most senior level to be realised. New initiatives require resources, drivers and recognition and rewards to achieve results. The resources may take the form of employee time for planning, developing, training or capital for building, purchasing equipment and in some cases external expertise.
An e-Learning strategy will require much by way of planning, funding and re-designing learning and information skills for learners and those responsible for managing learning. For resources to be deployed effectively, budget holders and decision makers must agree on the value of e-Learning to the organisation. They must also ensure that their managers understand the importance of deploying resources to this end and their own role in achieving it. Only the most senior people can authorise organisation wide changes to budgets and staffing. Without their support the initiative will fail.
