Further Information: Compliance with policies, standards and guidelines governing the development of e-Learning is regularly monitored.

The purpose of developing policies and guidelines that support a new initiative is to outline and establish a standard of operation across an organisation and to harmonize it with existing values and ways of working. To do this, the policies and standards must be relevant, up to date, use plain english and be readily available.

Along with the development of the policies and guidelines to support e-Learning, there should be an implementation plan or roadmap that describes how the various components that support the new initiative will be rolled out. The plan should describe how the guidelines will be monitored as part of a quality assurance process.

Monitoring compliance with standards can be done in a number of ways that include employee questionnaires and surveys to test for awareness, random sampling of products and services, quality assurance processes that test for compliance and training to develop services or skills to agreed standards.
