Further Information: The organisation compares its own e-Learning performance with other sectors.
The case for using e-Learning as a major tool in workforce development is made by many organisations that have embedded e-Learning into mainstream training and development. Some would argue that the benefits are measurable and that it is possible to benchmark progress across different sectors.
Benchmarking is about putting measures in place to identify good practice, within and beyond your own workplace. It’s important to have a clear measure of the current position of e-Learning in relation to best practice; to understand the processes and conditions that support good practice and take steps to implement them.
In the third report, Driving Business Benefits, Feb 2009, Laura Overton presents the findings of a longitudinal study of over 300 organisations that have developed the use of e-Learning.
You can find many links and articles that relate to benchmarking e-Learning in the workplace on the Towards Maturity website.
