Further Information: Access to e-Learning is monitored across the whole workforce
There is little point training staff to use e-Learning if they don’t have access to it. Access can take many forms. It may be computers in the staff rooms, dedicated learning centres, learning management systems accessed from anywhere in the world, mobile training centres and pods.
It is unlikely that it will be possible for a large and dispersed organisation to guarantee absolute equality of access to e-Learning for every employee but it is important for the planning and allocation of learning budgets to know who has access to ICT and what form the access takes.
Many ICT audits have been undertaken by different groups in the NHS. You can see an example of a scoping study carried out by NHS South Central. Twenty four organisations participated in the study.
