Many NHS organisations have been developing surveys to audit the IT skills of colleagues and the equipment held by various organisations.
The NHS South Central has carried out a scoping exercise to provide information on the current and emerging e-Learning activity within each Trust and PCT.

Their findings from audits and surveys inform the development of e-Learning by identifying equipment and training needs to meet the strategic vision for e-Learning in the Healthcare Services.

Many Trusts have a bank of PC's available in public places such as canteens or foyers etc. Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has a well developed "learning zone".

Access for many people requires adaptive technologies. Users with visual or hearing impairment can access documents and learning objects by making use of a wide range of technologies such as screen readers. Making small adjustments to the screen settings of non-adapted computers can make a huge difference.
